When does it arrive?
They said end of April, but I'm not holding my breath
I bought a vacuum sealer and sealed up the kilo of Challenger in 100 gram bags, still to do the Citra. Saved a stack!! The Citra smells amazing!

I was down at the Maltmiller on Friday. Rob had one there and seemed very enthusiastic about it particularly in comparison to the Zymatic which he also has. I'd imagine that his arrived fairly recently so I think that units are actually shipping now. Hopefully yours will arrive soon.

I've seen these things being promoted for a while now. I honestly think that if you can't be bothered with the effort of using a Braumeister or Grainfather type machine then why would you bother doing homebrew? Further, small quantities are labour intensive with just the cleaning in comparison to a 20l or greater batch. This kind of ruins the point of these little devices.
EDIT sorry I see now that this particular device can potentitally brew 20L of beer! Fair enough.
Still, my money at this price point would go on a second hand Grainfather. I use a Braumeister and it's piss easy to use. What you can't get away from though is that you still need to clean everything properly and measure out ingredients. I don't see how you can get away from this although Malt Miller do supply exact quantities of ingredients in little bags I think.

Good to hear its shipping and finally filling the back orders folk have been waiting patiently for, for the most part
One Q? can you use loose ingredients in old packaging or do you need to buy the specially packaged grains and hops in kit form?
it sure looks like the ultimate single big red brew button brew machine.. something it would give me huge pride in building, I dont think it would give me much satisfaction brewing tho even if every beer turned out faultless something i certainly cant boast to date..

You can use your own ingredients, I think it has four hop cages for separate stages of the boil

I'm interested too but like Fil I'm happier making Beer in a hands on fashion. But, Tempus Fugit and there will come a time when my current circumstances will change and space may be more of a premium. I like making bread by hand but make most by bunging ingredients in a machine and 5 hours later (usually over night) turning out a perfect loaf with little to no effort. It's not bread making as such but I enjoy the result none the less and would rather eat that than buy the crap they have at the Supermarket. I feel the same way about the majority of the bottled Beers available there too. By the time that day arrives my hope is these machines will be as good as my breadmaker. I have my doubts.
I am "The Little Red Brooster"
Fermenting:
Conditioning:
Drinking: Southwold Again,
Up Next: John Barleycorn (Barley Wine)
Planning: Winter drinking Beer

This sounds like a truely impressive machine, and I can understand why people would want it. I didn’t brew for a decade because I simply lacked the time because of family and work commitments. If I had the money for one of these machines (which I didn’t) I can see that it might have made brewing possible. You get to design recipes and have a barrel of beer at the end of the day! However, there is no way I could justify spending that sort of money and it would be second best to brewing it with the ‘normal’ processes for me. Still, I’m interested to hear how well this works
