Coopers Golden Crown
Coopers Golden Crown
Just started my second brew, this time I used the hydrometer to test the OG before pitching the yeast.
Instructions say it should be 1.038, my reading when temperature adjusted was 1.035, so not far off.

Re: Coopers Golden Crown
Should give you a nice session beer. Best of luck with it.

Settled at 1.004.
I never realised how long it took to sterilise 40 bottles.
My fermenting tubs don't have taps, so I dissolved 100g sugar in 100ml of warm water, put that into a pressure barrel and then siphoned the brew into it. I do have two bottle wands, but couldn't get either of them to fit on the tap, I guess I will have to find an adaptor of some sorts, but it was easy enough to fill the bottles anyway.
They are now sat under my dining room table.

Wilko do a tall fermenter which has an area to put a tap with a bottle wand (if I remember correctly, they sell the wand and tap together). I do the same as you did but only use 50g of sugar dissolved in boiled water which I then leave to cool.
I have got a device for sterilising bottles, in all I put a brew on, sterilise and fill 40 bottles (or thereabouts) and get tidied up in about 4 hours from start to finish. I only bottle now as I got fed up with pressure barrels. Obviously I need two fermenting buckets to do the method I employ as well as the bottling bucket. I am currently fermenting my 71st kit...

Beer is my drug of choice.
I don't need anger management classes, I need people to stop pissing me off.
No beer, no fun - know beer, know FUN!
Carrots may be good for your eyes but alcohol is better as it gives you double vision!

Re: Coopers Golden Crown
I am thinking of putting a tap in at least one of my fermenting buckets. I have the tool to drill the hole, so would just need to get a tap.
Re: Coopers Golden Crown
Been in the bottles a week and it is already crystal clear...

Sampled a couple last night, needs to carbonate a bit more, but tastes good.

More importantly, the beer is in a magical levitating bottle. Very clever!

Haha, yeah it has been a bit neglected.
Thank you.
It is more than the patio that needs weeding, the grass is knee high ...

Probably overcarbonated and the bubbles are helping it levitate.guypettigrew wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 1:00 pmMore importantly, the beer is in a magical levitating bottle. Very clever!
