Ball Lock Bulkhead Post for plastic Bucket Lid

I'm about 20 months into my HomeBrewing Hobby and have tried to keep it in its place i.e. not spending stupid amounts on it.

Having watched this video I attempted a closed transfer using a plastic bucket fv. It went pretty well.

The next day I found this video which is probably a little clearer - though both are good.

I'm yet to try the resulting beer, dry January!!, but it got me wondering whether i could insert a Ball Lock Bulkhead into my FV Bucket Lid?

I kind of assumed that this would already be a product on the market but haven't been able to find anything.

If this is a workable solution, I wondered whether I could also use this to add in CO2 before Dry Hopping? Co2 is heavier than air so it should sink to the top of the liquid in theory, right.

For dry hopping this time I did the solution presented by Verdant on the Craft Beer Channel where you blast Co2 up through the FV tap. Would one be more effective than the other?

You could add a ball lock to a fermenter bucket lid, but I'm not sure what it will really achieve.

At room temperature gases will mix, the CO2 won't sit on top of the beer with all the oxygen floating above it, and really the best thing you can do it avoid letting the CO2 out of your fermenter in the first place, and try to keep it at a high concentration. So that means when dry hopping you just want to crack the lid off slightly and throw the hops in as fast as possible, then seal it up again.

I guess that Verdant bubbling CO2 up does two things:
1. It keeps positive pressure while dry hopping, so there will be a continual outflow of gas from the dry hopping port.
2. It agitates the hops at the bottom of the fermenter.
The only danger you face with a bucket fermenter is that you're going to stir up all your yeast/trub.

It is a bit confusing because the price is just for the gas in post not including the lid. The "bulkhead" refers to the shoulder on the post. A better description might be. A male gas in post which is the opposite of a female gas post as used on Cornies
