I used two mini Kegs for my last brew. One was absolutely fine the other was a bit iffy . I put this down to the beer that had been in there previously. I hadn't cleaned it properly I believe or soaked enough so just tainted. It didn't taste that bad but not right.

I'll give them another go but probably a limited use of the kegs

Thanks Cob! All makes sense, I’m pretty careful with them but maybe not quite enough! Bottling a such a faff so kegs seemed a good way forwards - particularly as I don’t want to just throw them away. I use a new bung each time but makes no odds if the beer goes down the drain!
Is there any way I can test them aside from having a good look inside with a torch?
Not sure if there's anyway to test for rust. Maybe put some water in to soak for a few days and taste it?

I'm sure some clever soul on here will have a wonderful idea! They usually do :D

I love these mini kegs, very convenient when way of storing beer without all the bottles taking up space in the fridge.
I have just ordered a corny kit and acquired a new Fridge that I will put in the garage, then I can keep these mini kegs indoors.
I think there will always be a place for these little kegs

Just a thought - you can buy cheap endoscopes nowadays - Toolstation has one for £20.
