Braumeister fermenting lid

Only just seen this thread, haven't been that active on forums. Anyway for what's its worth I have a very similar lid for my Speedo 120l FV. When I say 1 I actually mean two

The first lid I converted, although the speedo has an external water jacket I wanted to experiment with a cooling coil inside so the water would recycle both inside and out + the Triclover added where the hole is (when welding the lid suffered a little flex) still usable but didn't hold too much pressure. The 2nd lid I just fitted a triclover.

Currently sitting unused in a BFO stainless freezer unit.

So my only advice would be not to weld anything to the lid only use screw fittings.

To be honest, I think speedo are being a bit "commercial" with this one, I personally think it's pointless. The lid you have and a tea towel is fine, used properly.

I am impressed with fermentation in kettle.

Just ordered a stick on silicone heater for the BM. Might need a bit more ummph as the season cools.

So, slightly confused here, what's the sequence of events? Boil as normal, then cool with immersion cooler and pitch the yeast? What about aeration of the wort, what yeast do you use?

Run your brew day as you would normally. Once you have the beer at pitch temp, pitch.
Use the same yeast as normal.
Aerate as normal I whisk or airstone. Both work.
Simple as it sounds. Just don't transfer it to another vessel.

Manage the fermentation as you would normally.

Just got to drinking my second Brew & Ferment.
Me and the wife both had hallucinogenic dreams after drinking it.

Ergot, yes. Not going to be that, never heard of that ever happening with homebrew. Maybe it was just a bit stronger than they are used to...

I at this point I am in favour of something in the ingredients. Nothing to do with the method of brewing.

Be nice to know the recipe and if it has been made before?
