Is that really a thirty minute boil ?

Yes. 90 minute boils are overrated.

Years ago I went from 60 to 45 with no discernable difference in the results. I've recently been able to start doing all-grain (BIAB) again and shortening my brewday where I can.

Hi chap. Do you get any issues with extracting bitterness from the hops with a boil as short as that?

No, I just increase the hops a bit.

Good call mate. I boil with gas from a bottle. With the price of propane going up  there may be a time where more hops is cheaper than a longer boil.

Time is also a bit part of it as well.

Cheers

Have you considered overnight mash? I get up in the morning have a coffee and a scratch and then start boil. I gave up brew days a couple of years ago.

No, I'm already having to no-chill the wort after the boil and don't want a two day brew session.

You're not wrong there Paul. The price of bottled gas is crazy. I now get up to mash temp on the cooker in the kitchen. Boil I still use gas outside.
