I mean the newly assembled cap. Shouldn't be any need to clean inside there. Air tight. Bought some Loctite plastic glue. Works on both polys.

I bet Guy thought that about his Kegland inline thermometer

I did see that post... you're making me change my mind now. Maybe don't glue it and see how I go.

I like the see how you go method. Often saves the "What was I quacking thinking " moments.

Re: 10L cheap pressure keg recommendation
Several fails later, including flexible spanners and incompatible wing nuts due to the post thread being NPT, the answer finally hit me at around 2:30am a few mornings ago when I was laying in bed unable to sleep. The answer was staring me in the face the whole time. Use another identical nut! To lock in place I simply needed a nut on the outside of the keg and one inside. I was able to easily tighten it from the outside. Was a pretty satisfying experience!
Turns out the thread size is 1/4 inch. I now need two more nuts for the other post. Found these on Ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112081628982 ... 1026554802
I also tidied up the lid. 3 x 45mm 3m acrylic discs in there now. Seems to have sealed nicely. However, time will tell when I do the pressure test as soon as the other nuts arrive. Fingers crossed they'll fit!

Looking really good.
All it needs now is a party tap to replace the spray head and you need never leave the sofa

Quick update. Posts are in. Lots of gas PTFE tape was required to to ensure a tight seal.
Only leak is here, unsurprisingly. So ordered this. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08 ... UTF8&psc=1 Hopefully it'll fit.

You might want to swap out that BZP roofing bolt for a stainless bolt of some kind? Or even nylon.

.. Or even leave the pressure relief mechanism in place.

My work here is done.
Total build was just shy of £50. Happy enough with that!

Nice tidy job, but I'm wondering why you didn't just go for a reconditioned 12L cornelius keg, which make great pressure rated FVs for small batches. Comparable price, if you shop around. Add a floating dip tube and it's difficult to beat.
