QUOTE (Daft as a Brush @ Aug 27 2006, 02:45 PM) I think a fair few of us have seen it, its probably hindered more people than its helped
I got How to Brew when I started brewing, and have used it in conjuction with various brewing forums. Just wondering why you think it may be a hinderence??
I've found it quite useful, though some bits are way too technical!
QUOTE This put me (and others it would seem) off AG brewing for some time. He also makes makes things sound more critical or complicated than they actualy are.
Yes! That is very true!
I would have to agree that it is a good reference.
I have not come across Dave Lines books before, but have just found http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... Track=true
What sort of recipes are in it? I bought Clone Brews, but dont really use it as I get most of my recipes off the net or make them up. Is it worth getting Brewing Beers Like Those You Buy if its only a couple of quid??
Sorry if this is completely off topic and should be in Bargain basement!
QUOTE if you dont have any luck i'll phone them...a***holes!ÂÂ
That was hard work - the thing that swung it was saying it needed a 40mm hole. Should turn up in 10 days but only a few pennies short of £15 whereas vossy said nearer £12. Hope I have the right one
QUOTE (Daft as a Brush @ Aug 29 2006, 11:07 PM) I cant quite see how you will get it through the 2" neck of a budget barrel
I think that Bigster said he was going to cut the thread off hence widening the neck.
Personally I wouldn't use a budget barrel but would instead buy a cheaper http://www.the-home-brew-shop.co.uk/item744.htm. At £8.61 you can't really go wrong. And if you do, it is cheaper to replace!
I skimmed the crud from my brew last night, used a stainless spatula type thing to "scrape" off the brown stuff. Quick squirt with Iodophor beforehand, shake all that off and skim away B)
