Its just the graph is only showing one error bar, I am just been a scientist

Similar to a mag stirrer, but significantly cheaper, and up to 1L AFAIKChappie519 wrote:Whats a squid stirrer? And how small volumes are we talking![]()
I've seen a stirrer built to that design and it works well, the brewer reported getting from 'single' cell to 1 millon cells/ml (Lager pitching rates) in just under a week.
As I said it came from a lab that was throwing it out, I'd been on the look out for one for a good few years. Even though EBay have them the price is rediculous. I was planning on either a squid stirrer, or building my own using the fan in a box approach, but one of my 'contacts' came through with that one for me.mysterio wrote:Where did you get your stirrer TJB? I've got one of the wee squids it wasn't purloined i actually won it in one of the raffles that the reps run at conferencesTJB wrote: Problem is they do tend to heat up. For smaller volumes a Squid stirrer is more affordable and as effective.

Most people would have brought it into the lab, but mine went straight home with me.
A 2L flask sits on it quite comfortably, have to say im very happy with it especially because it cost nothing
