lovely smell! boiled them 20 mins at a time adding the "tea" (if thats not the proper term sorry for upsetting the purists). Added the light spraymalt to the liquid, them the sugar and the can. after a good stir.....

starting gravity arond 1032. well impressed with the smell, hoppy bitterness is the best i can describe it. thought i'd tried hops with a lager first coz my lager always seem to miss something. spilt a bit and my jeans smell of hops!!

Explain to her that it's cheaper than a night in the pub. This may work best after she's had a glass of your finest!

ok £4.99 for a lager kit at wilkos, about £1.50ish for the hops i think, half a bag of brewing sugar 60p, light spraymalt £3.29 - thats around £10.39. mrs chopper drinks Stella and lime (please don't lynch me or ban me from the forum) so even at wetherspoons (where she works) for the 36ish pints i knocked out this aft she would only get about 4 pints on a night out. homebrew rules!

With the other half working at Wetherspoon's you must have a pretty limitless supply of free beer bottles too. Yet another saving. Saves nipping round the back under cover of darkness to steal them I guess!

There's certainly no reason why you shouldn't Eye Jay  I dare say there'd be a other / new kit brewers that would benefit from seeing how someone else makes up and / or tweaks their kit
