Grain Beer Kits

Post by Reg » Tue Feb 01, 2005 12:19 pm

I remember, a few years ago, going to a homebrew shop in the Midlands... (not that good a one, I seem to remeber, the hops for sale were nearly yellow... AGAIN!) ...and seeing a grain beer kit for sale. Basically a big bag of grain, some dried yeast and a set of not desparately helpful instructions!

I think this was something of the shop's own design but has anybody else come across this?

That's a new one on me, Reg. I suppose it might have helped some people get started on grain brewing, but I don't see the point of a grain kit; it probably cost more than buying the ingredients separately!

Precisely... I thought it a bit odd.... Particularly as you were then stuck with their recipe...
