Thanks

I tend to bottle 20l batches but might get some of the smaller ones for drinking first

These are pretty interesting, although if you were dispensing straight from the tap on the bag would you end up with a load of sediment?

Dispensing straight from the tap is what they're designed for and its how the majority of punters use them when they buy beer from breweries.
When the tap is fitted correctly in its box, its at a raised level to allow sediment to drop below it.

My mate got the 'rough' version (with live yeast) from Tring as he knew I'd be after the yeast when he finished with it.
When he got it home it was cloudy due to live yeast ( and I suspect finings) but apparently it was clear after if had rested for a few days.

As previous post, the taps sightly raised the way the bag sits in the box. You get about 1/2 - 3/4 pint of waste at the end of the box

Cheers for the replies. Might have to invest in a couple of these and give em a go.

can I ask how long do you need to leave beer to condition? Usually I would do 1 or 2 weeks in warm so the added sugar carbonates and then 2 more weeks before drinking. But no carbonation on this so is it just the 2 weeks?

You need to be careful about over priming. I generally fill the bag a point or so above final gravity then let it finish over the next week in the bag to get a gentle fizz . Remember there's still residual co2 in solution which is more than enough for beer for me that is.

I've not added any sugar to the bag and filled it at about 4c so expecting some co2 to be present. More a question about how long to let mature? A week or 2 long enough.

About a week to ten days at 12c. Lift your box upright so you can bleed off any co2 though the tap now and again as the bags are not as strong as a polypin. Alternatively to reduce pressure just pull a pint :D

Excellent clean setup. Good stuff!

I'm currently using two pins connected to a pump, but when they eventually go bust I think I'll look at using these too.

Any chance you can post the measurements of the outside boxes? I'm thinking about how many I can get in my fridge!

Here's a 20 ltr bag I've got conditioning, bagged at 1013 three days ago after 5 days fermentation. I squashed all the air out when I bagged it but you can see it's just starting to billow out . I'll vent in a couple of days or so depending on how much co2 is in the bag. I'm expecting another point or so drop.
Note the tap is pushed in just one click so I can pull out to vent. Once vented it'll be pushed all the way in.
