Otley OG Recipe wanted

Post by Jolum » Mon Jul 14, 2008 12:47 pm

Hi All,

Does anyone know what goes into Otley's OG?

Had a few last week at the Derby beer festival (in the Assembly Rooms). Really liked the hoppiness of it.

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Thanks in advance :)

Thanks Jim\DaaB.

I actually wrote to them, seemed like a good idea at the time, now I'm cringing - they must think I'm a complete nutter.

Well, I got a reply from Nick Otley (Otley Brewing Co) last night
Hello,

I obviously cant tell you the recipe but I can tell you we use Pale and wheat malts and progress hops for the bitterness and WGV and Willamette hops for the aromas.

Good luck with the brew and thanks for enjoying the OG.

Wow, I never realised people in the brewing industry could be so nice and helpful. I know he hasn't given me the exact quantities or method but at least it's a start. So here's a toast to Nick Otley.

...now to begin some experimental brews
