Choc Treacle Stout 5/5/08

2.08 kg pale malt
3 kg mild ale malt
470 grams roasted barley
248 grams torrefied wheat
165 grams chocolate malt

25 grams northdown 7.9% 60 mins
35 grams fuggles 5% 60 mins
25 grams ek goldings 60 mins
300 grams black treacle 20 mins
mash at 68 c for 60 mins

Mash started 5.10 pm

I have, it's lovely 8) i have changed the recipe this time but just to use up some ingredients :D

agreed, it's gorgeous beer, even tastes good in this warmer weather, stouts are great for using up bits and pieces, just bung 'em in and you always get something decent.

I must have a hundred or so recipes in my Promash folder but still go back to some favourite recipes over and over again, this one in particular. :D

Have a good one AT. I myself should have a crack at this at some time. Though at the moment I seem to be going through a mild phase, and like a stout its a great way to use stuff up AND also learn some of the dark malt flavours.

Hope it is going ok for you AT.

I have tried this stout myself courtesy of Garth, it is a cracker!

This is also coming from a confirmed traditional bitter drinker, I may give this a go myself during the winter months.
