Fair enough about about the gravity i was trying to bring in the number eight theme but thats probably an unnecessary complication TBH.DaaB wrote:Maybe we should decide on a gravity rather than weight of grain initially as efficiencies will differ. 1040-1045 sound ok ?
Perhaps before we finalise the grain bill we should narrow the hops down by discussing what we already have or if you are buying in, what hops we are happy to use.
I have the following, (and prefer no more that 2-3 different hops in a beer)
Amarillo
Bramiling X
Cascade
Challenger
First Gold
Fuggles
Goldings
Progress
Styrian Goldings
Target
Well i have all the same hops as yourself DaaB with the exception of Bramling X.
I also have amarillio but i guess a lot of people wouldn't and that they might struggle to get some in.
