We have a squrrel in our garden hence the name. Main reason for the brew I had a few friends around last night and stocks are a little low  So unplanned brewday with the following

5.50 kg Pale Malt, Maris Otter (5.9 EBC) Grain 91.21 %
0.50 kg Caramel/Crystal Malt - 20L (39.4 EBC) Grain 8.29 % ( may not use this if not i will add 0.5kg marris otter )
0.03 kg Roasted Barley (591.0 EBC) Grain 0.50 %
35.00 gm Target [11.00 %] (90 min) Hops 25.5 IBU
20.00 gm Northern Brewer [8.50 %] (45 min) Hops 11.3 IBU
20.00 gm Fuggles [4.50 %] Dry hop in FV and 10 gm in the cornie.
1.00 items Campden Tablet (Mash 5.0 min) Misc
1 Pkgs Nottingham (Danstar #-) Yeast-Ale

Im looking at 40 ish IBU's for this and about 4.5% alc

Day did not really goto plan I managed to make a right mess of the batch sparge I was waiting for the other half as she wanted to help as usual I cant complain as she is good company. To top it all off the hop filter came off the tap and I managed to drop my wedding ring in the now cooled wort  Just hope the darn thing did not pick up an infection.

Hmm - hope it turns out in the end!

My dad eats squirrels he traps in his garden - (he's a butcher) - he says it's very tasty, though not much meat on it. Not sure what their nuts taste like though....

Well I appear to have about an inch of hops and cold break in the bottom of the FV, I will be racking this off to a second FV on Thursday and hopefully it will drop clear, I will very carefully turn the original FV to start the liquid spinning and let it stop naturally while the lid is still on which should stop any air getting to the brew and at the same time all the hops and stuff shuld be at the centre of the FV thus be left behind.

Back legs of Squizzers are surprisingly meaty, and did you know if you trap a squirrel its illegal to release it as its not a British native species?

Other way round I think.......the natives are reds and the greys are asylum seekers.
