morning all
ive been reading about the anchor steam beer made in america and wondered if any one had tried using a kit but switching the yeast for a proper
lager strain and brewing at higher temperature.
any opinions? and if so what kit do you recommend?
lager yeast at higher temps?
Re: lager yeast at higher temps?
Anchor are using a rather unusual yeast strain to make their beer - it's available in liquid form. I don't think you'd get good results warming up a normal lager yeast but using a clean ale yeast (US-05 for example) would probably be better.
Re: lager yeast at higher temps?
oh i see.
so is newquay steam beer nothing like that then?
