Ag 2 , summer lightningish

Woke up this morning and got a brew straight on, It went so much smoother than my first one, started at 11, finished by around half 4.

Recipe:

5000g Pale malt
Mash 90mins at 66 C

57g Challenger (7%) 60 mins
30g East Kent Goldings (4%) 15mins
15g East Kent Goldings (4%) Steep.

Og 1050.

I hit the OG spot on, but I seem to have a problem with the overall liquid in the FV as both times I have been 5-10litres short of what I aimed for.

Mash

Because I brew in my bedroom I have a serious problem with it getting steamed up, my solution was to use a fan to blow the steam out the window, this worked reasonably well, although I did have to use a towel to waft a few times

Do you always paint your toe nails    ( picture 4)

Does this help with the boiling or the the final end product ???

only thing missing was your handbag and white shoes

Good job.

And nice to know you've got a bare footed lady brewing with you!

As for the shortage of wort at the end.....if it's consistent, then try using that much more liquid at the beginning....

This is down to 1011 now. Just had a sample from the Fv and it was AMAZING. I could actually sit and drink a couple of pints of it straight out the FV. Gonna leave it a few more days then its getting bottled! Cant see them lasting long though!
