It'll be about 45. Actually I haven't bothered to work it out, but I usually get about 43 with 3.75kg of pale and no wheat malt. I've used wheat malt a lot in the past - it helps head retention and gives the beer a slighlty different nuance of flavour (don't ask me to describe it, though! ).

Well, I did start at 6.30 (and the boiler had been on since 6am, thanks to my timer).

Of course I'd love to, but I'd need the fermenter that's in use as a hot liquor tun. :P

I really should make use of my timer. I thikn that swmbo would kill me if I unplugged it from the christmas lights though - it took her ages to work out all the timings and if I was to change that................

PoP, buy another one  I got my timer for about £3 from a budget shop - which hardly broke even my bank - and it has made my brew day so much shorter - I can start mashing as soon as I get up.

heh, I'll probably wait until after christmas when the timer won't be in use. It is unlikely I will get to brew before I go away anyway....

Jim can you describe the nuance of flavour that wheat malt imparts on the brew :)
