This is kind of an amalgamation of several different recipes I have found here and on other forums for SNPA. Its come out well, and IMHO pretty close to the original, so I think its probably worth posting given there seems to be significant differences in the recipes about. If I brewed it again (and I probably will) I would add just a touch more crystal malt, perhaps 500g
AG #17 - Sierra Nevada Pale Ale clone

Approx 40L final length
Grist/fermentables:
8550g Marris Otter Pale Ale (Warminster)
450g Crystal (Warminster)
500g white sugar
liquor:
55L treated
52ml CRS (Brupaks)
1/2 tsp MgSO4
1 Campden tab
Hops (all Brupaks from Brew UK):
25g Magnum (2008, 15.7% AA) @ 90 mins
25g Pearle (2007, 8.2% AA) @ 30 mins
50g Cascade (2008, 7.6% AA) @ 10 mins
100g Cascade @ 0 mins (5 mins steep @ 80ºC)
50g Cascade dry-hopped after 1 week in FV
Left for another week before bottling
Yeast: Safale US-05 x2 (hydrated)
Notes:
66ºC mash
OG 1054
FG 1009

Interested to see you use sugar. Pretty sure that's not used by SN but I suppose if it comes out fine then no worries!

I'd be willing to bet that SN does not use sugar, but this is not SN doing the brewing and if you are happy with the results that is what counts.

Yep, adding a bit of white sugar is a cheat to increase the gravity slightly. It doesnt seem to affect the flavour significantly. I use some in most of my US style brews.
