Brewing on the Fly!

Post by JabbA » Fri Jul 30, 2010 6:29 pm

Having decided to get a brew on after work this evening I thought I'd use up a bit of stuff that's been open a while. I threw some malt in the mash tun and now need to work out the hopping :D

Mashing as I type is:

3000g Pale
1000g Munich
367g Caramalt
150g Torri Wheat

Giving a 20l brew length at 1.050

Now I'm looking at half-opened packets of Amarillo, Centannial, Hersbrucker, Target, Progress and Northdown.

So I was thinking along the lines of:

90mins Progress 22g
60mins Nothdown 11g
30mins Amarillo 11g
10mins Centennal 11g

To give 38 EBUs

Whatdayathink :D :?: :D

Cheers,
Jamie

Northdown in, now what yeast? I've had a packet of SO-4 for a while so would like to use that but I'm thinking Notts would be a better option :?:

More of a fan of s04 myself, good fruity character.

Yep, just about to pitch the rehydrated SO-4. I might be able to squeeze another brew in on Sunday so might go for a Fullers ESB...
