Re: Timothy Taylors Landlord Tips
no doubt smelling even better, I hope to brew soon as I have almost fitted out my new 70l copper so I can do X2 brews now I have honed in on a few base recipes, Might let my Father do the GW TT for its maiden voyage, that way I get one, he gets one and "I" did not follow anyones recipe

Its certainly a beer worth doing Gary, you could always add a jar of Marmite.GARYSMIFF wrote:no doubt smelling even better, I hope to brew soon as I have almost fitted out my new 70l copper so I can do X2 brews now I have honed in on a few base recipes, Might let my Father do the GW TT for its maiden voyage, that way I get one, he gets one and "I" did not follow anyones recipe
Re: Timothy Taylors Landlord Tips
TTL is made with Golden Promise malt rather than MO. The GW recipe does produce a very good pint. I did also read on their websie before I made my TTL that they use priming sugar in the casks.
Re: Timothy Taylors Landlord Tips
Planning on doing the TTL on Sunday.
How much Torrefied Wheat and Crystal Malt would you add ?
About 4 to 5% for each ?
Final Volume: 23 Litres
Pale Malt 4250 grams 90.8%
Black Malt 30 grams 0.6%
Torrefied Wheat 200 grams 4.3%
Crystal Malt 200 grams 4.3%

Hi Steve,Runwell-Steve wrote:I pop a little crystal in as well, and a little wheat to aid head retention, but apart from that I pretty much follow the Graham Wheeler recipe.
Brewing this tomorrow and want some measurements of how much torrified wheat to use for a 25 l brew length?
Cheers

just in case Steve doesn't reply in time. I use about 150g Torrified Wheat for head retention.

Re: Timothy Taylors Landlord Tips
I've made two batches using Bobek. Be careful though as it can be too flowery IMHO
Re: Timothy Taylors Landlord Tips
Are not Styrian Goldings and bobek one and the same?
