Re: White IPA
That should work, let us know how it turns out. If I get a chance I may well try something like that, I'd probably bump the gravity up just a bit to say around 1.065 but your version should be very quaffable. I did an American wheat which I hop bursted and I like the way it turned out, I would think an IPA type effort would be good as well. One other advantage to a beer like this is that the turnaround time should be pretty quick and since wheat beers go south quickly anyway you would want to drink them young.
Drinking:Saison (in bottles), Belgian Dubbel (in bottles), Oud Bruin (in bottles), Olde Ale (in bottles),
Abbey Triple (in bottles), Munich Helles, Best Bitter (TT Landlord clone), English IPA
Conditioning: Traditional bock bier, CAP
Fermenting: Munich Dunkel
Next up: Bitter (London Pride like), ESB
So many beers to make, so little time (and cold storage space)

Re: White IPA
I agree this looks like a delicious wheat IPA, but I wouldn't call a 20% Munich beer "white", per se. Just a naming quibble.

Last summer one of the local micro's made a Hoppy Hefe, sounds just like your idea, and was totally enjoyable on a hot summer day.smdjoachim wrote:What with all the fuss about what a Black IPA is,how about a White IPA.

Trouble is I don't think were going to get a hot day in the near future
