Anyone got an alice porter clone recipe? Going to the LHBS later for some other bits so thought I could get this sorted while I'm there.

How did this turn out?

It ended up as Malice Porter which was possibly a touch on the hoppy side for a porter but none the less was a pretty good ale! Seymour and sunny_jimbob reviewed it in on page 32 of the members beer reviews (I'm on my phone so creating a link is difficult).

The recipe I brewed will be on here somewhere too. Will look for it in the morning.

I thought it was delicious. WAY hoppier than a classic London porter, more like an American "Black IPA" but I get the feeling you guys would consider that a very good thing. I didn't even know it was based on a BrewDog concept, that makes perfect sense now.

I don't think it contained Sorachi Ace as the aforementioned recipe stated, though, did it? Man, oh man, I love Sorachi Ace hops. That's one worth hunting-down, bigdave.

His recipe: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=57048&p=600034&hil ... er#p598997
My review: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=8509&p=608808&hilit=malice#p608808

darkonnis, if he can be persuaded to share, bigdave's Rakau is something really special, in my opinion.

I think I'll have to get in on this beer swapping malarky, I make a dangerous Belgian White if I may say so myself! Don't suppose you have a computer copy of that review sheet do you seymour, looks very very handy!
debating getting some sorachi ace, my usual supplier doesnt stock it so it'd be a dear do.. hmmm.... :D

Yeah, he's right. In my response on that thread, the word Beer Scoresheet is a hyperlink to the same thing. I'm glad you found it for yourself, though. So, if you were digging around the BCJP site, that means you probably also saw the handy:

How To Judge Beer
Beer Checklist
Checklist Instructions
Beer Faults Troubleshooter

et cetera

Cheers!

haha not at all, google is my friend :) I just typed in what I wanted and it came up top of the list.
Might have to give it a go some time. Got a pale ale on at the minute which seems to be sorely lacking so it might be a good place to start.
Cheers
