Looks like a delicious English bitter to me. I've not personally brewed with Bobek (yet) but I hear good things about this Northern-Brewer-ish-Styrian-Golding-ish hop. I can't wait to hear how you like the combo with Challenger.

Cheers!

Looks tasty Tom.

Personally I like my bitters with a bit more toffee character from the addition of some crystal 60 but I think your recipe will work really well as it is.

Looks good to me too, and it's a similar but hoppier version of my first 3v AG brew here - viewtopic.php?f=24&t=58329

I am really surprised how much hop flavour that I got from (for me) a relatively small 25g 10min addition :D

Should be a nice brew for our summer that is gradually emerging!!

I've not used crystal for ages. I used a little too much on one brew and it put me off. I will have to get some more and give it another go :-)

I'm only using the Challenger as a user upper. I'll probably move to Magnum for bittering.

I'm hoping to get something with a nice hop flavour in it. I was rather underwhelmed with my last attempt, Bitter start.
I had gone off the traditional style bitters but had some of Critch's best bitter in a local ish pub and rather enjoyed it. I'm sure that I've read somewhere that he uses some form of styrian goldings as late additions so if I can get something of the flavour of his beer I'll be impressed :-)

Cheers Tom

Don't know where I thought I read that then, unless it was the Styrian that I had? That evening in the Cheshire Cheese was a little hazy

Just added the dry hops.

As I was getting the Bobek out of the freezer, the remains of a pack of Chinook jumped out at me so I thought it best to add them too.
I'm surprised how well the little hand blender worked. I didn't spend too long blitzing them but within a min I had them chopped very finely. Didn't add any beer or pre boiled water so they just went in the muslin bag dry with something to weigh them down.
This time next week I'll find out what the results are when I keg it :-)

Cheers Tom

I'm interested in the advantages of blitzing the hops before dry hopping?
