Coopers Lager
Coopers Lager
Would beer enhancer (gluscose + spray malt) be suitable for a coopers lager kit. Or would 100% glucose be better?
Thanks

Ok Wilko didnt have beer enhancer anyway BUT i know i have about half a pack in a jar AND glucose lying around.
I plan to ferment this i in my water cooler vessel which holds about 18 litres. This should make it with some more body.
Also i got a cool bag from sainsburys for free which fits snuggly over the top 1/2 of the cooler bottle which i wedge 2 icepacks in. Ill stand the whole vessel in a basin of cold water with 2 more icepacks in to bring the tempreture down to what i hope will be low enough for this kit.

Dont have time to goto the brew shop so it will have to be all the beer enhancer and some glucose to make it up.
As long as its cold i think it should turn out ok. In the end i knew this wasnt going to be a great beer. More one i would rush to get done and not cost much.
I was going to get a geordie one but for the extra few quid i thought coopers would be nicer

Checked this morning, going like rocket fuel sadly there is a tiny leak near the barrell tap.
When i checked this morning it looked like perhaps 1/4 litre had dripped. I adjusted the tap but i guess the sealent has given way. Hopefully i can go 4-5 days with only maybe a litre lost. In the end if i lose 2-3 litres it will still be worth keeping.

I've suffered this problem twice now, the best thing i've found is (as long as it's not dripping constantly) to leave it alone and let the sugars "glue" the area around the leak. It's worked for me anyway.Hoppkins wrote:Checked this morning, going like rocket fuel sadly there is a tiny leak near the barrell tap.
