16 pages of Haze discussion, glad I mentioned it
The problem is the haze will probably last longer

In that case my overall efficiency was 74% for the 84% extraction brew. (Having checked my notes). Without any special measures to hang onto every drop between boiler and FV I'm losing 10% - mostly to hops, as I'm not sparging them.

You should get your efficiency up there without much problem, unless you're losing more to dead space than I (I don't lose much).

The V1 brewery is pleased to announce that it's last 2 ales are perfectly clear 8)

One has fallen bright in secondary and the other fell bright with issinglass from primary

Now it's time to reflect on why :?

I have several other ales in corny, maturing...but they aint getting touched :D

Nice one Vossy, i've also been getting better results, my Styrian Stunner is crystal clear (it's been kegged for 5 weeks now) and it seems that all subsequent brews are also haze free!

Changes that I have made are:

A) Leaving them longer than 3 weeks to mature
B) Adjusting the mash PH to 5.2/5.3
C) Adjusting the sparge water PH to under 6
D) Using whirlfloc tablets in the last 10 mins of the boil
E) I've stopped rinsing the hops after draining the boiler instead i have been adding 3 litres of treated water to the boiler when running off into the FV when it gets down to the last third

I am going to continue to do all of the above and look forward to proudly handind pints of clear beer to friends when they come around! :D

I've never really had haze problems but for what it's worth
Wez wrote: Changes that I have made are:

I have been known to try beers a bit soon without too much haze
B) Adjusting the mash PH to 5.2/5.3
I used to use acid but now use 5.2 buffer. It's so long since I didn;t adjust my mash pH I can't remember if I had hazes when I didn't
C) Adjusting the sparge water PH to under 6
I batch sparge so this isn't an issue
D) Using whirlfloc tablets in the last 10 mins of the boil
Whirlfloc is great

I've never rinse my hops but I use hop bags so sometimes squeze the bittering hops out jsut before the end of the boil
