What Thermometer
Re: What Thermometer
I got one of these with a full set of kit I bought off Ebay.

It's not cheap at £27 but it's very good. Very easy to read and spot one when compared to a mercury thermometer.
Considering I got a full AG set up for £70, including this, makes it a bit of a bonus!

Re: What Thermometer
Always worth searching the Office/Business section of eBay for for ex-food hygiene test thermometers. Picked these two, calibratable, waterproof thermometers for £12-15 each.
Re: What Thermometer
If it's food grade stainless then probably OK, otherwise I would not risk it.D4nny74 wrote:Cheers for reply everyone , have everything now , just received the belgain blonde from the malt miller today, can i use this to protect my bag from the bottom of the boiler , if needed ?

I used a cheap stainless colander, from B&N Bargains or similar shop, knocked off the handles, and put it in the bottom of the boiler. Worked fine. After removing the bag I'd fish out the colander with my long spoon.
