I have a pale ale that has been on the go for a few days now and a few bags of berries in the freezer and I just now spied the wife's blender in the kitchen ........................ :-k

0zzy,
No straining, just bung it in the FV, drill as normal. You will get sediment 40mm thick! :D
On bottling day, there was no fruit in suspension, the beer was quite clear! =D>
Get the blender out, do the berries and bung `em in! :D :D

Looking forward to sampling it at the weekend :D

I was lucky enough to drink this beer on Friday evening, and had to share it with Mrs MB, as like me we both couldn't get enough of it!

It was quite a dark red colour, but definitely red and had very good clarity for a brew with so much fruit in it. I served it at 12C, and to me this was perfect for my tastes. It retained a tight white, small head and had an aroma of strawberry jam.

I can only compare this brew to a few commercial fruit beers that SWMBO drinks, which I have found to be too sweet and fake tasting. This beer has retained a very natural strawberry flavour, but still has a beer flavour, which I really liked.

For a non-fruit beer lover like myself, this brew really goes to show how good they can be.

10/10 from me and Mrs MB =D> =D>

Hi WA,

I made one of these up last year - Not quite so many strawberries - about 1.2 kg, I think, plus a bottle of Lowicz Strawberry syrup.
I think I've still got the last bottle in the cupboard (last dregs from the FV so loads of crud in the bottom of the bottle)

It was OK, but the strawberry flavour was a bit artificial, I felt. Maybe the problem is I like my beer to taste of..... well......beer.
