It's based on GW's Fullers London Porter recipe, but I just used up some of my malts, so some of the amounts are slightly increased. I used some higher alpha First Gold in addition to the fuggles for bittering, as the 100g of 3.6%AA fuggles wouldn't have been enough on their own to achieve 35EBU's.
I was brewing in an evening and was being rushed to get my mash on as dinner was ready, so I doughed in to my strike water that was too hot and ended up with a mash temperature nearer to 68C instead of 66C, and had no time to try and add some cold water!
Anyway the rest of the brew evening/night went ok, apart from the pi$$ing rain that arrived as I was boiling outside my shed! The parasol that I erected over my boiler, failed to stop the driving rain from soaking the socket end of my extension lead reel. Somehow me and my kit survived the incident to tell the tail.
