After fighting to remove the lid on my Tilt hydrometer in order to replace the battery, I noticed that the “nipple” just under the lid has broken off.

I fear that this is important - critical even - to the balance and thus calibration of the device.
I’ve emailed Baronbrewing to ask, but not hopeful that it is salvageable.
It seems to me that the plastic has become brittle over the years I’ve had this (at least 5 - could be more). So maybe this is only to be expected.
I will report back when I hear from Baronbrewing.
